Meet the Owner
My love for the outdoors began long ago, growing up in south Texas. I spent many weekends hunting and fishing with my dad. After graduating from TCU, I entered the job market just like everybody else. I found myself working long hours and having less time to do the outdoor things I enjoyed so much. Many of my college friends were getting married or moving away. For a long time I did the bar scene and there wasn’t anyone at work that I really wanted to hang out with. Then in the summer of 2002 I came across DFW Outdoors. I spent a couple of months checking out the website and quickly became jealous of all the fun things they were doing. I tried to get some buddies to come out to an event with me but I had no luck. I finally got fed up with the same old weekend routine I was doing. I signed up and attended my first event. I had such a great time that the following week I asked to become an event leader so that I could host my own fun events. Over the next couple of years I met so many great people and participated in countless awesome events. Then in the winter of 2004 I was asked if I wanted to take over the club. Considering my past experience with the club, I knew it was a great opportunity. So in February of 2005 I officially purchased the DFWO. Three months later I was laid off from the job I thought was my career future. Today, DFWO has grown so much and I am proud to call it my full time business. It has been an amazing stint. I have met even more great people and the fun events just keep coming. The great thing about DFWO is that we do all the planning for you. You just show up. You get to try new things that you would never do on your own and you get to do it with a fun group. So, if you’re in that similar place where I used to be - tired of sitting at home with nothing to do and friends who don’t want to do the fun things you would like to try - then come on out and join us. We always have something fun and interesting planned and our members are always eager to meet new people. I invite you to come out and meet us and see that we are the friendliest group around.
